Amid repeated cries that Edmonton is awesome by host Bridget Ryan, the evening saw performances by several of the winners, including celebrated soul, pop and R&B singer Charles, who added three more EMAs to her shelf — both Single of the Year and R&B/Soul Recording of the Year for the evocative Crumbling Down, and Female Artist of the Year, her second including 2013’s win of the same trophy.
